Tabasco cocoa

When I embarked on my journey of discovery with Cacao, I chose Tabasco Cacao among all the other regions of our country where the cacao tree grows, such as Oaxaca, Chiapas and Veracruz.

I decided on Tabasco because our president is from there. Ha ha. Don't believe it.

I have two great-grandmothers from Tabasco, one on my mother's side and another on my father's side.

He always called me Tabasco. So when I visited the beautiful city of Villahermosa for the first time, and saw the first cocoa plantation, I confirmed that my intuition had taken me to the right place.

When you are about to land on Villahermosa, you can appreciate the green, muddy landscape, full of water channels. Like a giant swamp.

Cocoa plantations are just as mysterious as the pods that grow on them.

Thus, little by little I got to know those who worked the land, the families who have had the tradition of harvesting and growing cocoa for generations.

We buy our cocoa directly from our producers, promoting fair trade, and processing in Mexico City.
